The Freedom Grams project, in collaboration with Serviceplan Munich, aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing incarceration of individuals for cannabis-related offenses. Contribution to this project involved designing a 3D printable grinder that could be downloaded from the Freedom Grams website to support the cause. Additionally, the grinder was printed on a larger scale and included in media kits sent to various press outlets. The design focus was on packaging contents and promotional items, integrating industrial design into the broader vision created by art directors and graphic designers.
Creating a design suitable for mass 3D printing with minimal supports, while maintaining brand elements, was a significant challenge. The aesthetic drew from the Freedom Grams story, with bright orange filament inspired by prison uniforms and grip lines reminiscent of prison bars, coherently integrated into the project's typography grid system.
